2020

It's been a rough start for humanity this year.

Once again we have shown what a not great behaviour we have. A plan to save us all was shattered, keeping the social distancing for longer than expected. Not everyone was holding up his part of the deal.

On the bright side, nature bloomed. Animals roamed the earth through the places occupied by humans. Waters streaming in the cities was home once again to those driven away.

Earth got his well needed rest and global warming was paused. All around the globe there were less pollution levels and skies were appearing much clearer.

Families bonded. Children homeschooled. Playing together made the love stronger. It was at times frustrating, but caring and learning from each other prevailed.

There were walks in nature, forestbathing, taking it all in. Realizing how grateful we are for mother earth while caught up in a pandemia. How bad we've been treating our gifts.

The daunting fact that the essentials of our society is not driven by money but by individuals. It brings to mind that in the moment of distress we have to put our trust in the skills that others have learned over the years.

So in the end, when everything is about to fall apart, the things that matter the most are family, friends, education and sense of community.

Sad part is, however, even if the earth received a well deserved rest from it's inhabiting parasites, humans are creatures of habit. After all this is over, and we won the battle against the virus, people will go back to their egocentrical lifestyle.

My wish is that humanity learns from this experience and doesn't fall back to a existence fueled by money, greed and self-preservation that preceded this point in time.

Instead, my hope for us, inhabitants of a earth we so desperately try to break down for our own gain, we try to cherish everything we learned in this time of need.
